SUMMARY
Republicans are within striking distance of flipping New Jersey in the 2024 elections, but to do so they will need a unified platform. Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner is the only candidate in the race for U.S. Senate who aligns with the GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump. This alignment will be critical in November, when victory will depend on turning out not only Republican voters, but also independents who are fed up with the corrupt status quo of Democrat machine politics and hunger for real change.
REALIGNMENT IN NEW JERSEY
A recent Farleigh Dickinson University poll released on April 15 showed Republicans with a real shot of winning a U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey for the first time since 1972. In a hypothetical three-way matchup including presumptive Democrat nominee Andy Kim and incumbent Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez (who has hinted at a possible independent run for re-election), Serrano Glassner trails Kim by just 5 points, 44%-39%. In 2018, Menendez waltzed to re-election by an 11-point margin despite a history plagued by credible corruption allegations. The latest polling shows that Serrano Glassner’s message – that New Jersey deserves better than the legacy of corruption represented by “Gold Bar Bob” Menendez and the entrenched Democrat political establishment – is resonating with voters.
PRO-CHRISTIE ESTABLISHMENT INSIDER CURTIS ‘BACAW’ BASHAW CAN’T WIN
Millionaire hotelier and property developer Curtis Bashaw, a Chris Christie puppet and consummate insider with deep ties to the political establishment, holds no appeal to voters looking for an alternative to corrupt machine politics. Bashaw has donated tens of thousands of dollars to New Jersey Democrats, an appointee of his political ally Democrat Governor James McGreevey, and an ardent opponent of President Donald Trump. While Serrano Glassner was working to support Trump’s candidacy, Bashaw was donating to anti-Trump candidates such as Gary Johnson and Chris Christie.
Bashaw is running an insider campaign, hiding from voters while relying on high-priced political consultants to lock up endorsements from local political bosses who control ballot access.
IT HAS NOW BEEN 34 DAYS (AND COUNTING) SINCE BASHAW CHICKENED OUT OF A SCHEDULED DEBATE AGAINST SERRANO GLASSNER BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID TO OWN UP TO HIS HISTORY AS AN ANTI-TRUMP, PRO-DEMOCRAT INSIDER ELITIST.
To make matters worse, Bashaw subsequently expressed support for cutting Social Security benefits and raising taxes on American workers. Bashaw also revealed himself to be a Democrat at heart when it comes to border security, advocating for bringing in more low-wage workers to take American jobs – something he practices in his own business.
New Jersey voters simply cannot trust Curtis Bashaw to represent their best interests, because he doesn’t stand for anything. He’s always looking out for himself and his own ambitions above all.
NO WONDER CHRISTINE SERRANO GLASSNER IS WINNING
A recent Monmouth College poll showed that Serrano Glassner had TWICE the name recognition of Bashaw (24% vs. 12%).
Serrano Glassner also leads the Republican field in an Emerson College poll. Among Republican primary voters who have decided on a candidate to support, Serrano Glassner commands 29.4% support, compared to 19.6% for Bashaw.
Mayor Serrano Glassner appeals to voters because she has never shied away from letting the people of New Jersey know where she stands. When the left sought to portray her “ties to Trump” as a “political vulnerability,” Serrano Glassner responded by formally endorsing the former president’s 2024 candidacy weeks ahead of his triumph in the Iowa Caucus.
This was a decision based on conviction, not politics. Mayor Serrano Glassner has been a Trump supporter from the very beginning, recognizing that he offered a genuine alternative to the elitism of both parties. Trump’s presidency gave hope and meanings to countless millions of formerly “forgotten” Americans who had been left behind and ignored by the political and corporate elites for far too long. Serrano Glassner believes there is still work to be done to restore the government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” that our Founders bequeathed to us.
