SUBJECT: Curtis Bashaw Just Proved That He is No Conservative … And He’s No Trump Supporter Either

In a candidate forum hosted by the New Jersey Globe on Monday night, Curtis Bashaw proved what our campaign has been saying all along: he is a liberal, New York Democrat in a New Jersey Republican’s clothing.

He’s also hiding from voters the fact that he’s bitterly anti-Trump.

When asked whether Donald Trump was right to call him a “Christie person” while endorsing Christine Serrano Glassner, Bashaw hemmed and hawed without once acknowledging that he donated thousands of dollars to Christie’s explicitly anti-Trump 2024 presidential campaign.

Curtis Bashaw has also donated over $30,000 to Democrat candidates, both in New Jersey and in other states. His excuse? “These things are normal in the course of a businessperson executing their career and in our state.”

In other words, he’s perfectly comfortable using political donations to grease the wheels for his businesses and buy special treatment from corrupt politicians like “Gold Bar Bob” Menendez.

“I think Joe Biden is the duly elected president,” Bashaw declared, adding that the 2020 election “was a fair election.”

Give us a break. The 2020 election was the most lawless election in American history, and everybody knows it. State and local officials arbitrarily changed election laws without any kind of legal basis. The Constitution gives state legislatures the exclusive power to set the rules, but leftist bureaucrats exploited the COVID pandemic to change those rules at the last minute in ways that were calculated to benefit one candidate over another. That’s not “fair,” Mr. Bashaw – that’s a sham election, and the American people have every right to demand better.

CURTIS BASHAW FAVORS INAPPROPRIATE MATERIALS IN SCHOOLS

Bashaw freely acknowledged that “there's a lot of stuff that's really graphic, and seems inappropriate” in classrooms and school libraries. So what’s his plan for addressing this glut of smut? All he would say is, “I'm not for banning books. I'm not for censoring speech.”

In other words, Bashaw doesn’t want to do anything to protect our kids from the inappropriate materials he himself admits are available in our taxpayer-funded schools.

Bashaw echoed standard pro-abortion talking points, saying, “I’m not a woman. And I’m not qualified to make that decision medically.”

Clearly, Curtis Bashaw is in lockstep with the radical left when it comes to his pro-abortion stance. His assertion that the abortion issue should not be “adjudicated by the government” is equivalent to saying that he opposes any limits on abortion – even full-term, partial-birth abortions. Bashaw’s extremist position is a bridge too far for GOP and independent voters in New Jersey. According to a poll conducted by Marist College, 75% of Americans support at least some restrictions on abortion.
