Serrano Glassner comes out swinging against opponents
Mendham, New Jersey — Today, Fairleigh Dickinson University released a new poll showing that Republicans have a real chance to win the U.S. Senate race in New Jersey if incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez runs as an independent, as many observers expect he will. With Menendez in the race, the presumptive Democrat nominee, Rep. Andy Kim, holds a slim 5-point edge over the two Republican front-runners, Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner and hotelier Curtis Bashaw.
Notably, Bashaw draws his support primarily from the GOP-leaning southern portion of the state, while Serrano Glassner does better in the more urban and Democrat-leaning northeastern part of the state. In a general election matchup against the far-left Kim, Serrano Glassner would be able to consolidate Republican support across the state while also drawing in moderate Democrat voters from the northern counties.
“This poll confirms what I’ve been saying all along – this race is a genuine pickup opportunity for Republicans, and I am the candidate who is best-positioned to capitalize on this unique opportunity to break the Democrat stranglehold on New Jersey politics,” Serrano Glassner said. “Andy Kim is a far-left progressive who has voted with Joe Biden 100% of the time, which makes him equally responsible for the crisis on our border and the economic devastation of household budgets across New Jersey.”
Serrano Glassner also reminded voters that Bashaw can’t be trusted. In a recent interview, Bashaw unsuccessfully sought to disavow his long history of opposition to Donald Trump, threatened to cut Social Security benefits, and expressed support for inviting more low-wage migrants to this country to take American jobs.
“I’m not surprised that my opponent declared his support for more migrant workers, given the fact that he’s been employing foreigners at his hotels for years instead of hiring locals for seasonal jobs,” Serrano Glassner said. “I am, however, shocked and appalled by his shameless efforts to pretend that he is anything other than a diehard never-Trumper, given his history of supporting anti-Trump candidates and promoting anti-Trump propaganda. I’m also outraged, on behalf of the millions of other Americans whose futures he is threatening, that he is openly touting his desire to slash Social Security benefits and raise taxes on American workers.”
